  • Route 81 Service has Been Funded!

    9TT received notice that we were awarded funding for the Route 81 bus service from Madison to Middletown.  The projected start date is Fall 2017.  Click below to see the draft route map and schedule.  More details will be posted on this page as they become available, but see this March 1, 2016 article from The Source.

  • Background

  • The 9 Town Transit Board of Directors created the Route 81 Committee to actively pursue funding for the proposed Madison to Middletown bus route along Route 81. The route will connect New Haven and Middletown, and serve many major trip generators along the way, including:

  • *Clinton Crossing Premium Outlets
    *Killingworth Village
    *Hammonasset Beach
    *Haddam-Killingworth High School
    *Higganum Center
    *Middlesex Community College
    *Saybrook Road Medical Complexes
    *Middlesex Hospital
    *Downtown Middletown
    *Any stop along Routes 81 and 1 along the way!

  • This route will improve access to the Middlesex Community College for residents of Guilford, Madison, Clinton, Killingworth, Haddam and Westbrook. It will also provide businesses along the route access to both employees and customers in Middletown and New Haven.
