Coronavirus Response Information

9 Town Transit (9TT) wants to update our customers on our preparation for the impacts of COVID-19 and the coronavirus.  We have been working with CTDOT and the health department to determine an appropriate action plan to ensure the health and safety of our employees and customers.

Face Coverings Required

To keep you and others safe, we require that everyone wear a face covering when using our services.

Rear Door Boarding

Through October 31, we will be boarding all passengers through the rear door where possible. Customer requiring the wheelchair ramp or kneeler are still welcome to board through the front door.

Fare Collection & Pass Sales

We will not collect cash on our routes and will not provide transfers through October 31st. Fare collection will resume on November 1st. Passes are available online and in our new mobile ticketing app Token Transit now. Passes will be available at area Stop & Shop stores October 15th. We ask all customers to use our new mobile ticketing, if possible. If using Dial-A-Ride or ADA paratransit, contact us at 860-510-0429 to learn how you can set up cashless payments.

Cleaning
For your safety, we have increased the frequency of the cleaning of buses to include daily disinfecting of touchpoints inside the vehicles with an antiviral cleaner.

Service Reduction or Suspension
We know you depend on us to get to work, shopping, medical appointments and much more.  As such, we will make every effort to continue regular schedules, provided it is safe to do so. 

If we determine the need to reduce or suspend service, we will notify you as soon as we can.  This decision would be made in conference with CTDOT and the state emergency management agency. How You Can Help
Please also wash your hands throughout the day, including before and after riding the bus.  Remember you must wash your hands for 20 seconds to fully disinfect your hands.  At all times, avoid touching your face.  If you feel ill or suspect you have been exposed to the Coronavirus, please avoid all public transit.  Our employees and other customers will appreciate it.  There will be no points assessed for late cancelations on ADA and Dial-A-Ride during this period.
