XtraMile
XtraMile is a low cost ride sharing service that anyone can use to get to and from nearly anywhere in our service area, typically within 20 minutes of your request. Our shuttle bus picks you up and takes you to wherever it is that you need to go, no advance booking required! Download the app and try it out, or give us a call at (860) 510-0429 to book by phone.
How to Schedule
XtraMile does not require advance booking, just log in to the app, the online portal or give us a call whenever you are ready to go. Enter where you want to go and confirm your trip details. The app will give you an ETA and send you a notification when the shuttle bus is on its way to you!
Need to be there at a certain time? No problem, just let us know your appointment time when scheduling.
Want to book in advance? The app allows booking days in advance.
Getting Started
First, install the XtraMile by RVT app on your smartphone. Then, follow the instructions for setting up an account. Not using a smartphone? Give us a call at (860) 510-0429 to create an account, it only takes 2 minutes.
Who Can Ride? 
Everyone! As long as your trip starts and ends in an XtraMile service area, you can ride. Download the XtraMile by RVT app or call us at 860-500-0429 and try it out.
Have special mobility needs? Our shuttle buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts and drivers are trained at helping people with disabilities.
Are you 60 or over? Ask us about registering for our senior fare program to ride on a donation only basis.
XtraMile Shoreline
The Shoreline XtraMile service area includes the towns of Old Saybrook, Centerbrook, Essex Village, the Essex Steam Train, and portions of Westbrook, CT.

Monday through Friday – 6am to 8pm
Saturday – 7:30am to 6pm
No Sunday Service
Fares
$1.75 per trip
Seniors 60+ may ride on a donation only basis, preregistration required
Fare may be paid through the app or by cash when boarding.
XtraMile Middletown
January 25, 2024 through May 18, 2024
XtraMile serves downtown Middletown and 17 additional stops located on Washington Street, on the Wesleyan University campus and on the north end. It operates during the fall and spring semesters of Wesleyan University.
Hours
Thursday through Saturday – 12pm to 8pm
Fares
$1.75 per trip
Wesleyan students ride free with a Wesleyan student ID.
Seniors 60+ may ride on a donation only basis, preregistration required
Fare may be paid through the app or by cash when boarding.
XtraMile Belltown (Coming Summer 2024)
XtraMile will serve the Belltown area of East Hampton.

Monday through Friday – 7am to 6pm
Saturday – 8am to 5pm

XtraMile Madison & Guilford (Coming Summer 2024)
XtraMile will serve the entire towns of Madison and Guilford.
