9 Town Transit is a Public Transit Service of the Estuary Transit District:
Covering: Old Saybrook, Westbrook, Clinton, Killingworth, Madison, Essex, Ivoryton, Centerbrook, Chester, Deep River, Lyme, Old Lyme, East Lyme, Niantic & Middletown areas.
Extended Coverages: Our 9 Town Transit buses make daily connections with the New Haven Dattco Bus at the Madison Gazebo, also with the S.E.A.T. bus at the Niantic Hope Street bus stop & the M.A.T. bus at the Middletown Bus Terminal location.
Our Mid-Shore Express does make stops at Middlesex Community College Monday-Friday.
Riverside Shuttle Updates!
9 Town Transit is pleased to announce changes to the Saturday schedule of its Riverside Shuttle Route . The changes will provide earlier morning and later evening service from and to Chester.
Starting Saturday, February 6, 2009, bus service from Chester to Old Saybrook (along route 154) will begin in Chester center at 9:00 am, an hour earlier than the current schedule. The last bus of the day will depart Old Saybrook at 3:15 pm, about an hour later than the current schedule. All Saturday Riverside Shuttle time points will be affected by this change. There will be no changes to the weekday schedule.
9 Town Transit has been providing public transportation to residents in the nine towns of the Connecticut River Estuary Region since 1981. The Riverside Shuttle Route serves the towns of Old Saybrook, Essex, Deep River, and Chester . It includes stops at the Old Saybrook Train station, Bokum Plaza , Essex Square , Adam's Market in Deep River, and the Center of Chester.

9 Town Transit Awarded $325,000 in Stimulus Funds: The Estuary Transit District’s 9 Town Transit has been awarded $325,000 in capital funds through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), commonly referred to as the economic stimulus. The funding was recently announced by the Connecticut Department of Transportation, and is a 100% federal grant with no matching funds required. Read More

Senior Fares: Our current senior tickets will expire on September 30th. The funding for this program has been extended, however, it will be administered in a way that will be easier both for ETD & our passengers. Beginning October 1st, tickets will no longer be required to get the free senior fare. Instead, all Dial-A-Ride and off-route trips will be tracked by our scheduling software.
